Travelport to discuss travel trends 2020 research at the Business Travel Show
Travelport, a leading technology company serving the global travel industry, will join the Business Travel Show 2020, one of and Europe’s largest events for business travel professionals. During the event, Travelport will share the findings of its 2020 Travel Trends research, outlining the forces that will shape travel experiences as we start the next decade. These trends include:
The continued growth of digital technologies in the coming years will transform the way business and leisure travellers plan and act. Travel companies are adapting to this change and are utilising data to provide convenient, personalized experiences throughout a traveller’s journey. According to the findings included in our 2020 Trends report, 52% of travel professionals intend to invest in big data in 2020.
“Super apps” are spreading west from their established base in Southeast Asia. Super app tech giants such as WeChat, Grab and Go-Jek give their users a one-stop shop to communicate, shop online, book travel, bank, find a date, get food delivery, and pay for anything within a single, unified smartphone app. Travel brands that want to deliver holistic mobile customer experiences need to think about how they engage travellers within these super apps as well as in their own mobile channels.
Customers in Control
Several trends highlight that customers are moving towards self-service options, with 55% of those surveyed preferring to hear about travel disruption via digital communications rather than speak with a person on the phone. This is especially important when it comes to Gen Z, the future business traveller, and managing their high expectations through technology.
