Isleworth Travel Management to offer complimentary carbon offsetting on European economy flights
A commitment to sustainable aviation and a respect and awareness of the needs of the
environmentally-conscious traveller, and their businesses and stakeholders, are two of the foundation pillars of Isleworth Travel Management.
For 2020, Isleworth Travel Management are proud to announce a partnership with the World Land Trust Foundation, an organisation supported by Sir David Attenborough, and the opportunity for their clients to opt-in to their carbon offset scheme. The scheme uses funds to buy virgin forest tracts around the world, thus protecting these from exploitation and destruction. Mature trees are the best carbon absorbers; it takes years for newly planted trees to come into their own.
Isleworth Travel Management acknowledges that offsetting is not the answer to reducing our carbon footprint which is why the offset scheme is built into a much wider ‘Transparency Charter’ for clients. Offsetting for European short haul flights will be free of charge to clients signing up for the scheme ; long haul charges start from as little as £14 per flight, plus travel options – including hotel stays – will be provided by their dedicated account managers with details of their sustainability credentials and estimated carbon output.
Brett Gerrett, General Manager of Isleworth Travel Management said “Through our close relationships with clients and our understanding of the wider industry, we have recognised the growing desire for responsible travel options. Our carbon offset scheme will complement existing corporate policies whilst our ‘Transparency Charter’ will provide businesses with the data required to satisfy the concerns of their employees and the needs of their stakeholders. Importantly, this service comes as standard and is driven by a desire from the Isleworth Travel team to mitigate the impacts of business travel.
