TPE named employer of the year at prestigious Women in Rail awards

The Women in Rail Awards took place at the Roundhouse in Camden, London on Thursday 15 May. �Hosted by television presenter Gail Porter, the event saw hundreds of industry representatives come together to celebrate women in rail. One of the train operator�s standout developments has been the launch of the �Women at TPE� network, which now includes more than 150 women across all levels of the business. TPE�s Lucy Lightbown, from Bolton also scooped the Female Apprentice of the Year accolade. Lucy recently completed TPE�s first ever sustainability apprenticeship which took place over two years. During this time, she has focussed on helping TPE to continue to lower its carbon footprint, become as sustainable as possible, and encourage more people to take the train over less environmentally friendly travel options. Women in Rail was created to improve diversity in the UK rail industry through providing networking opportunities and support for all women within the sector.
