New research from ground transport and accommodation specialist, CMAC Group, uncovers growing concern among UK businesses over traveller safety and operational visibility as international business travel continues to rise.
The independent study of 500 travel managers conducted by Censuswide reveals almost a quarter (24%) cite employee safety as a key concern when employees travel overseas, while one in four (25%) say finding reliable ground transport abroad is their single biggest operational challenge.
Two in five (42%) rely on ride-hailing services internationally, often because approved or managed alternatives are not consistently available across all markets. However, the research suggests managed services are trusted 2x more than ride-hail in business-critical moments.
Ashley Seed, CCO at CMAC Group, says: “As business travel continues to grow, organisations are realising that domestic ground transport programmes aren’t fit for international purpose. Fragmented booking methods and inconsistent supplier standards are creating safety and compliance headaches for businesses operating internationally.”
“Travel managers are telling us they want a simpler, more connected approach internationally. 70% want their existing suppliers coordinated through a single central platform and 76% believe simplified international booking with 24/7 support is highly valuable.”
To help businesses address the challenges they’re facing, CMAC Group is launching an expanded international business travel proposition combining global supplier coverage, traveller tracking, consolidated billing and 24/7 human support through a single managed platform.
CMAC Group now coordinates access to more than seven million connected vehicles globally through one platform, one dashboard and one invoice, following supplier expansion across the globe, including in key business hubs across Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Middle East and beyond.
Seed adds: “Safe and consistent international business travel programmes don’t need more policy or tools. This expansion gives businesses access to managed ground transport through one platform, with the oversight and consistency required to operate confidently across multiple regions.”
The first of CMAC Group’s brand-new three-part White Paper series, Out of Control: Why Ground Transport Breaks at International Scale, is available to download now. Launching in June, part two will explore the power of convenience-first behaviour at international scale and why policy-led responses consistently fail. Followed by part 3 in July, this report will cover what a connected, international-ready ground transport model looks like, and how leading businesses are already putting it into practice. what a connected, international-ready ground transport model looks like, and how leading businesses are already putting it into practice.
